Bedford Mayor plans to step down in January

Update 2:54 p.m.

?Tharp tells us that, after several years of service, he is ready to take a break and spend more time with his family. Tharp will remain on City Council, which will choose a new mayor on January 2.

BEDFORD- Bedford Mayor, Willard 'Skip' Tharp, announced plans to step down as Mayor in January. He had served as Mayor since 2007, and before that as Vice-Mayor.

The announcement was made during Tuesday night's Bedford City Council meeting.
