a new opinion in Computer about Apple iPad with Retina display Wi-Fi (ME392B/A)

Product Type: Apple Tablet PCs / eBook Readers

Newest Review:?... the one charger for both. With the extensive range of apps available from the Apple Store, the iPads possibilities are endless!... more

I received the iPad with retina display as a birthday present and after setting up and playing around with the basics, I was already addicted! The iPad has almost completely replaced my pc, which I now only use when I need flash player! It also looks great - so sleek and shiny and sexy! The iPad is slim and light, making it very portable and easy to fit into your handbag or briefcase.

Perfect for surfing, the wifi is quick, the google search bar is handy and bookmarking is a doddle. The touch screen has just the right amount of sensitivity and the on screen keyboard is just the right size (my partner is usually complaining that touch screen keyboards are too small but this poses no problem for his big hands!). Of course, for those who do have trouble typing, the iPad has a clever little feature which converts speech into text - this can be used for anything from updating your Facebook status to word processing.

The 5MP iSight camera (on the back) is better than any I have previously encountered, and the 1080p HD video is perfect for watching movies. FaceTime is simple, with the front camera capable of 720p HD video and excellent microphone so your loved ones can see and hear you clearly as you chat to them from afar!

Battery life is good, and doesn't take forever to charge. I love that the lightning connector can be inserted any way up, but I do wish it had the same 30 pin connector as my iPod touch so I could use the one charger for both.

With the extensive range of apps available from the Apple Store, the iPads possibilities are endless!

Summary: Definitely worth the price paid!

Jury: Wis. man sane when he killed teen neighbor

By Dinesh Ramde, Associated Press

A Milwaukee man knew exactly what he was doing when he accused his teenage neighbor of burglary and fired a bullet into the boy's chest, a jury decided Friday, in a verdict that essentially guarantees 76-year-old John Henry Spooner will die behind bars.?

The same jury concluded Wednesday that Spooner was guilty of first-degree intentional homicide. That verdict advanced the trial to a second phase in which the jurors were asked to determine whether he was mentally ill at the moment he pulled the trigger.

Two doctors testified Friday that Spooner has anger issues and aggressive impulses, but that he was neither delusional nor detached from reality when he killed 13-year-old Darius Simmons last year.

Spooner never denied killing his next-door neighbor. He testified that he believed Darius was the one of the burglars who had broken into his home two days earlier and stolen four shotguns that had deep sentimental value. He also testified that he wanted to kill Darius' brother after the older boy ran into the street to help his dying brother. But Spooner didn't fire because he might endanger other people around them.

Dr. Robert Rawski, a court-appointed forensic psychologist, said that level of recognition shows how clearly Spooner was thinking at that moment.

"He opted not to (shoot) because there as a couple and a child in the distance. He did not want to chance it," Rawski said, recalling his interview with Spooner last year. "This is an individual who ... recognized the environment around him. His anger was very specific. He had inflicted injury in his perceived justice."

Police searched Darius' home after the shooting but found no stolen weapons.

If the jury had found Spooner mentally incompetent he could have faced life in a mental institution. Instead he faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison. The judge has the option to set a possible parole date. Wisconsin does not have the death penalty.

The strongest piece of evidence against Spooner was footage from his own surveillance cameras, which showed him confronting Darius on the sidewalk and pointing a handgun at him. The boy backpedaled a few steps with his hands up. Spooner then exchanged words with Darius' mother on her porch off screen, and then turned and fired one shot at Darius' chest.

The teen fled, and Spooner fired a second shot that missed. He tried to shoot a third time but the gun jammed.

Darius died a few moments later across the street, in his mother's arms.

Spooner, who testified against his attorney's advice, told the jury he killed Darius because he wanted his guns back. Prosecutor Mark Williams suggested Spooner was out for revenge.

"I wouldn't call it revenge," Spooner replied. "I would call it justice."?

Mac Haik Realty to move forward on next Energy Corridor tower

Courtesy Mac Haik

Mac Haik Realty is moving forward with the development of the Energy Tower IV, a speculative, Class A office building in the Energy Corridor.

Mac Haik Realty said Thursday it is moving forward with the development of the Energy Tower IV, a speculative, Class A office building in the Energy Corridor.

The 17-story, 450,000-square-foot tower will be identical to the Energy Towers II and III at Kirkwood and Interstate 10.

Energy Tower IV is scheduled to break ground in August with occupancy slated for late 2014.

Energy Tower III topped out last week, and Houston-based Technip USA Inc. ? which leased the entire tower in April ? is expected to move in by the end of January, said Steve Bryant, director of leasing. Energy Towers I, II and III are all 100 percent leased.

MHR is using the same team that was assembled to develop the other three office buildings to develop the tower in Energy Plaza. The team consists of Houston-based Morris Architects, Sugar Land-based E.E. Reed as general contractor and the Houston office of Day, Brown, Rice providing the engineering component. Professional Construction Services' Houston office will provide interior construction services, and Mac Haik Realty will provide project management services as well as property management services.

Bryant and Senior Vice President Brandon Poynter will handle the leasing of Energy Tower IV.

MLB.com updates At Bat iOS app with All-Star goodies, new iPhone UI

MLBcom updates At Bat iOS app for the AllStar break with iPhone UI, inprogress highlights

Even the most ardent baseball fans have to admit it's a long season. So it's perhaps wise that MLB.com has just trotted out an update for its At Bat iOS app just before the All-Star break, all the better to get you in the mood for the more interesting second half. First off, it'll let you access the All-Star week hoopla like the home run derby and the game itself. You'll also get new tweaks like in-progress game highlights and custom MLB news push notifications, while iPhone users will see a brand new UI and real-time game day data. All that should carry you into the playoff stretch and the next update, assuming MLB.com follows form from last year -- at which point, hopefully your team's still in the mix.
